For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. Mal.3:6
God does not change but man change, especially the mortal man; this man in us that chose to follow Satan and disobey God. The first change took place there in the garden of Eden when Adam made that choice. Today we struggle with decisions between good and bad (a change from one to another) which are a result of the confusion that came with our change of loyalty in Eden, and all the while God is still the same. “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. Hebrews 13:8-9
Things have since gone wrong with mankind and we can blame this and that but it is simply the result of our change. We are facing the consequences of our change from goodness and evil. What we are facing is evidence of our choice to change camps. Since God does not change we therefore need to make a change back to God so that it will be well with us now and in the time to come. Have you heard the phrase “It is only a fool who does not change”? This is very true with human kind in sinful state. If we do not change from our sinful likings and preferences, we shall end up destroyed. A change to following Christ who is the path of righteousness and way to eternal life would provide us with safe haven.
Satan brought about changes and since he is a lier from the beginning he keeps changing to maintain his reputation. That is a character opposite that of God. He changes the word of God that was spoken in Eden, He has since worked hard to make it appear that God changes or is wrong he did so by interfering with the law of God. “In heaven Satan thought to change the laws of God, and for this purpose he changed his character and his position in the heavenly courts, and influenced others until they united with him in the work of rebellion against God; but he did not succeed in changing the law of God. God did not alter or change his form of government to suit Satan’s ideas, but made it manifest that the foundation of his government in heaven and earth is as unchangeable as is the throne itself” Signs of the Times February 19, 1894
A change is necessary for any sinner who longs to be transformed; that change back to Christ is the only way out of this path of sin. How can you transformed from addictive behavior or immoral traits and engagements if you do not desire a change and embrace it? How can you be a follower of Christ if you do not make that choice to change Masters? Let us go back to the God our ‘Rock Of Ages’.
