It has always been the bad things in life, which reminds us of our lost status. We would otherwise be comfortable with sin. When our loved ones die on a horrific road accidents or long agonizing sickness, when we lose everything we have worked so hard to get through fire or natural disasters or through burglary, when we struggle with our farms and end up with nothing and the list is endless, we get a glimpse of what would be our ideal status. Imagine how Adam and Eve felt when Cain murdered Abel. They may have wished to be restored to their original state right there and then however, restoration is a process.
Initiated by God – ‘God is love’ restoration was in his plan from the very beginning and it took heaven a great act of love to pay the penalty of sin that we deserved, with the death of God’s son Jesus. “…know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:19
Vindicating God’s Justice- At one time the whole world will confess that truly God is just and that we had chosen our ways and deserved the consequences of disobedience “And I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. And the nations will know that I am the Lord…” Ezekiel 36:23 [ESV]
Understanding and willfully accepting – Exercising our power of choice to choose God and accepting him back into our lives. In Eden, we defected through our own power of choice we chose to follow the Satan. We will have to use our choice to come back to God again without being coerced just as Adam and Eve did in Eden. This process requires building confidence that was lost when doubts were planted by the deceiver. There was nothing left for Israel for see or prove of the power and love of God to them except to make their choice, Joshua challenged them “Choose ye this day whom you will serve…” Joshua 24:15
Exposing and Destroy Sin – Time will expose the intent of the devil and his deceptions will become obvious. When people discover that they followed a path of destruction and left the way of life in God their Creator, they will awake up to the reality of evil and that will be their spiritual dawning moment. ‘Time will tell.’
Reuniting with God – “And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:3-4[KJV]
Destruction of Sin – Sin and its master (Satan) and all those who chose to follow him will finally be destroyed never to re-appear. (Revelation 20:10) Without a total destruction of sin there could be fear of relapses but this will be dealt with conclusively.
Remodeling and Rewards – “…We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.” I Corinthians 15: 51-53[KJV] along with that we shall receive reward beginning with the crown of life “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” James 1:12[KJV]
