If you are a human being living in this planet Earth, the seed of Adam, you are living in sin and that is not your original state therefore you need restoration. The plan of salvation God had for mankind which was made even before the foundation of this world was basically a restoration plan. All these Christmas and Easter hullabaloos would be of no use if they do not remind us that we are in need of restoration and that God made full provision for that to happen for our sake.
We were created perfect and we chose a wrong path which came with devastating consequences that have since been the way of life. We cry about it we curse and sometimes curse God for the effect of sin. Instead we ought to be reminded that there is a way out of this mess and that it came as a gift of God to humanity when we needed it most, in fact, without it we were doomed. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
We also need to be reminded that change of status from ‘Perfection’ to ‘Sinfection’ (own term) brought about changes that were not part of the origin state. We have short lives, we have become physically deformed, we have bad mental state that is susceptible to evil thoughts and forgetfulness, we have bodies that are frail and easily invaded with sickness, we struggle basically in and with everything, there is not real joy in this life and in this state except we discovered the source of our restoration. Joy comes in knowing we are being restored. “The years of our life are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty; yet their span is but toil and trouble; they are soon gone, and we fly away . . . So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.” Psalms 90:10, 12[ESV], whoever is playing with this gift is not wise and is in need of that heart of wisdom.
Instead of struggling with whys and whats, we should put our efforts in discovering and familiarizing ourselves with the way of restoration which is an escape of final destruction that comes as an end-result of sin. We are endowed with a heavenly gift of restoration where all these bad effects of sin will be reversed back to the state of Adam before sin upon our choice of Jesus Christ our Redeemer. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6 [KJV]
**I will dwell more on this subject of restoration; what restoration entails and what to expect of it in the next article.
